Doug Barker

Doug grew an interest in agriculture while working towards his PhD in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he developed a vision system to track how small particles move through the air for indoor air quality research. He spent over eight years with Energid Technologies, leading teams to develop Actin (an adaptive motion control software toolkit) and gaining experience in applying robotics in surgical, industrial, agricultural, and aerospace applications. He is thrilled to join Tortuga and work with the team on some of the most challenging robotics problems in agriculture.

Originally from Indiana, Doug is excited to explore the mountains in Colorado by foot, bicycle, and motorcycle.
