Carl McIntyre
Robotics Production Technician
Carl grew up on a farm in western Colorado where he developed a passion for agriculture. Being surrounded by the amazing geologic features of the Grand Valley drove him to study geology at university where he researched the formation of the Colorado Plateau and geo-archaeology. As an eager scientist, he earned a 2nd bachelors in physics and researched non-linear optical phenomena in low dimensional systems. After moving to Denver to conduct battery chemistry research, he joined a team of researchers using ground penetrating radar to assist cassava breeders at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Nigeria. Carl most recently worked with a team of optical engineers to develop a free space optical laser satellite terminal for low earth orbit data transfer. Now he wishes to combine his passion for agriculture and electronics to assist Tortuga in our mission to improve society and the environment through novel harvesting technology.
